Field Notes: In Full Bloom
There is a particular kind of joy found at a roadside farm stand on a Sunday morning. Buckets overflowing with flowers. Stems leaning into one another. Colors you never would have thought to put together somehow looking absolutely perfect in nature.
Farm Stand Sunday was painted with that same sense of abundance.
Bold red and coral blooms tumble across a soft blush field, tangled with olive greens, unexpected periwinkle blues and tiny marks of color that reveal themselves the longer you look. The flowers aren't meant to be perfectly identified or carefully arranged. Instead, they capture the feeling of flowers gathered by the armful, gloriously imperfect and still carrying a little bit of the wild with them.
Part of my Field Notes: In Full Bloom release, this original floral painting reflects the looser, more intuitive direction I've been exploring in the studio. Layers remain visible. Lines wander. Petals overlap. Some flowers command attention while others seem to be hiding beneath the surface.
It feels happy. A little nostalgic. Wonderfully unruly.
Farm Stand Sunday is for the home that welcomes color, pattern and personality. At 36 x 36 inches, its square format makes a beautiful statement above a console, dresser or fireplace, or anywhere that could use the feeling of fresh flowers on an ordinary Sunday morning.
